Kim Tae-Kwan

Kim Yee-Suk
Abstract
Spinal cord stimulation has been used for the purpose of relief of chronic, intractable pain since 1967. Post back surgery syndrome and complex regional pain syndrome are two most challenging problems in pain medicine. A 48 year old, male patient complained severe low back and lower extremity pain similar to complex regional pain syndrome since he underwent lumbar instrumentation due to lumbar bursting fracture. Spinal cord stimulation was tried because his symptoms did not respond to any conservative therapies. Satisfactory result was achieved, so permanent battery was implanted at 7 days after trial stimulation.
